Celebrate Mardi Gras With Casino Charms in West Virginia
One of the best places to enjoy Mardi Gras in Charleston is at one of the many fabulous restaurants on Broadway. The top destination for tourists and locals alike is Mardi Gras West Virginia. Here you can eat and drink while enjoying the music, beautiful scenery, and great food. This year, Mardi Gras is more significant than ever as it approaches. As the largest gathering of Mardi Gras attendees, the parade down Broadway takes the place of Grand Cruises in Charleston and is one of the most anticipated events of the year.
The parades begin early in March and go on until the seventh day of the month. There are three routes through the city. At each location, there are music, fun activities for children and adults, and plenty of souvenirs for every participant. There are also plenty of local retailers who participate in the parade to offer local food and souvenirs. For those unable to participate in the parades, there are other attractions including the annual Cherry Blossom celebration at the end of May and the parade down Broad street during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.
Some of the festivities include parades, games, concerts, performances, and street fairs. In addition, there are many cultural exhibits throughout the city. On the first day of May there is the Jazz Festival. Music royalty such as Count Basie and Jelly Roll Morton join in with great jazz music. This event is filled with food, fun, and a parade.
In the weeks prior to the festival, there is the premier of the South Carolina Delegation of Municipalities Arts and Entertainment Association (SCORE). This six-day event includes concerts by local musicians and artisans of all ages. Many businesses sponsor these events as a way of promoting goodwill among the community and attracting new business to the casinos.
Another key feature of the carnival is the Shrimp and Lobster Festival. This event is held nightly from late May through early June and features live music, food, and entertainment. There are also fireworks, special presentations of paintings, workshops, and demonstrations by artisans. This is another way of promoting goodwill among the residents. Several restaurants are associated with the carnival and they offer special meals that coincide with the events.
Along with the casino events there are over 40 museums that cover a wide range of topics. These include, the Charleston History Museum, the Historic Kecoughtown Church, historically preserved plantations in Folly Field, The Ashley House, The Battery Farm, The Orange Plantation Historical Society, The Petersburg Blue Grocery, The Quail Botanical Garden, and many others. The events celebrate the culture and history of this historic city. There are many beautiful hotels that are located on what was once known as the European style town square.
Many hotels also have several restaurants that cater to the visitors. Visitors are able to enjoy fine meals that have been prepared by chefs who expertly prepare the foods in many traditional ways. A person can find many different types of food to enjoy along with their leisure time here in the west end.
In addition to the numerous casino gaming sites, the Charleville West Virginia Mardi Gras Festival takes place each year. It is one of the most popular annual events in the area. It is held from the first week of June until the second week of July. The main attractions of the carnival are the parades that go down the street with numerous banners declaring that there are “the best times to get away.” This year’s carnival promises to be even better than previous years.
